India in Paralympics Paris 2024

Paralympics Paris 2024 started on 28th August 2024 and will continue till 8th September 2024, almost 169 nations are participating in the Paralympics with a total of 4463 athletes competing against each other in their respective sports, across 549 events played under 22 sports in Paralympics Paris 2024. This year India has sent 84 athletes who will be taking part in various sports like para archery, para shooting, para badminton, and many more sports. On day 5, India’s current standing is 27, with a total of 7 medals which includes 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. India’s medal tally started with Avani Lekhara winning a gold medal and Mona Agarwal winning a bronze medal in a women’s 10 m air rifle standing SH1 category on Friday. Later, on the same day, Preethi won a silver medal and secured the third medal for India in the women’s 100 m T35 event, after a while Manish Narwal won a silver medal in men’s 10m air pistol SH 1.

Meanwhile, Rubina Francis won another bronze medal in the P2 women’s 10m air pistol SH1 shooting event. Preethi Pal won another medal this time she won a bronze medal in the women’s 200 m T35 event. The latest medal which is the 7th medal was won by Nishad Kumar who won a silver medal in the men’s High jump T47 final. The Indian athletes will be in action later in the day, and there is a high chance for India to win more medals today as Sheetal Devi once again will be participating along with Rakesh Kumar in the Mixed team compound open quarterfinal at 8.40, and the other Indian athletes schedule for today will be.
