Indian Hockey Team Back In Action To Defend Asian Champions Trophy.
The Indian hockey team is back in action after their phenomenal performance in the Paris Olympics, where they secured 3rd place, won a bronze medal and made the nation proud with their performance. The Indian hockey team is again in action to defend their title from the 8th of September in the Asian Champion Trophy, where they faced China in their opening game and defeated them 3-0 and played like a champion. The 8th edition of the Asian Champion Trophy 2024 was hosted by China this year, and it started on 8th September 2024, at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir City, Mongolia. India is entering the ACT as a 2-time bronze medal winner in the Olympics, so they are a hot favorite to defend their title at the Asian Champion Trophy. To defend their title the India hockey team will be up against the top hockey-playing nations of Asia like China, Japan, Pakistan, Korea and Malaysia. When India won the Asian Champion Trophy last year at home, they became the first one to win the title for the 4th time in the history of the tournament. India started their campaign on 8th September against China and defeated them 3-0, now India will be playing its 2nd match today which is 9th September against Japan. India will be facing Pakistan on the 14th of September, while the semi-final and final will take place on the 16th and 17th of September respectively. The Indian hockey team skipper is keen on being dominant in the sport and won ACT this year also. He said” We won the Asian Champion Trophy last year and it gave us the right momentum in Asian games and followed in the Paris Olympics. This time again, we aim to kick start the new Olympic cycle by winning the Asian Champion Trophy 2024”.
