Paris Olympics 2024 Medalist Swapnil Kusale Father Makes A Shocking Demand.

Paris Olympics 2024 Gold medalist Swapnil Kusale’s father, unhappy with the prize money awarded to his son Swapnil Kusale by the Maharashtra government after winning a bronze medal in shooting a 50 m rifle. He was rewarded with a prize money of Rs 2 crore which his father was disappointed and mentioned that I felt this amount was insufficient for his win as compared to the winning amount given to other athletes by their respective states like athletes of Haryana. He further mentions that the prize money given by the Haryana government is 6 crore for the gold medalist, 4 crore for the silver medalist and 2.5 crore for the bronze medalist, while the Maharashtra government is only giving 2 crore to the bronze medalist. Swapnil Kusale from Kolhapur, won a bronze medal making him the second athlete from Maharashtra to win an Olympic medal. So they raised the question about why the Maharashtra State government is giving such a low reward when the state is having such rare achievements like this. Swapnil’s Father further said maybe his son is from a normal background that’s why he has been awarded such a low amount, and questioned whether the prize money would have been the same if Swapnil belonged to a political background family. His father believes that he should be rewarded with Rs 5 crore and should be given a flat where he trains near Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune. Further Suresh Kusale also suggested renaming the 50-meter-three-position rifle arena after his name after winning the bronze medal. He has also been promoted to a special officer post by his employer at Central Railway. The Maharashtra government has stated about doubling the prize money of the athletes winning in such sporting events as the Olympics. But still, Swapnil Kusale thinks that the reward provided by the Maharashtra government is still less as compared to other states like Haryana, where athletes get much higher rewards as compared to their state.
