India vs New Zealand 2nd Test Match.
India vs New Zealand 2nd test is taking place tomorrow, the 24th of October; as per the reports, the pitch is expected to be a slow turner. After getting defeated in Bengaluru in the first test match of a 3-match test series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma and his team will be out in a must-win match to keep their hopes for the series alive, and it is also very important for the race to the WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP (WTC) final. The second test match will be played from 24th October to 28th October in Pune; these matches are key for team India to directly qualify for the WTC final without depending on the other teams. Before the start of the 2nd test match, the main question that arises is how the pitch will behave. To get the insights about the pitch head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma are in regular conversation with the pitch curators of Pune. Rohit and Gambhir both are keeping their eyes on the pitch before the test match begins. As per the reports and information, the Pune Pitch will be a slow turner. There has been rain around the city over the past week, so it’s doubtful how much time the groundsmen have gotten to prepare the pitch as per the requirements of the team management. However, the groundsmen have shaved off the grass of the pitch, and the sun has been out for the past 2 days; it is expected that the pitch will be dry and a turning Wicket. Head coach Gautam Gambhir and Captain Rohit Sharma are keen that it will be a slow and turning pitch. Team India’s assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate, during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, said “I have not been out on the pitch myself personally but the rest of the team management has assured that they will try to do everything in their hand to read the wicket properly this time. We anticipated the Bangalore wicket a bit wrong that day, so the condition just backfired on us. So, we can assure you that this time the pitch reading will be as close to perfect.
