What reason would Bcci give to ICC and PCB for not traveling to Pakistan? Maybe due to the high chances of a ‘terrorist attack’ in Pakistan.

One of the biggest questions in the world of cricket right now is about where and when the Champions Trophy 2025 will be held. Pakistan is the appointed host for the Champions Trophy 2025, but on the other hand, India has the maximum power in world cricket right now to generate revenue. BCCI has already reported to the International Cricket Council (ICC) that they are not willing to send team India to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. India last traveled to Pakistan in 2006 to play a bilateral series, now India and Pakistan only play in ICC and Asian Cricket Council events. Since India has refused to travel to Pakistan, Pakistan has taken a strong decision to take out the ‘hybrid model’. PCB has also asked ICC to ask for a written response from the BCCI about not sending team India to Pakistan. As per a video from Sports Tak, the BCCI has responded for not traveling to Pakistan, the major concern they would mention is the safety concern of their Indian cricket team players. Further, the BCCI may also be mentioning the terrorist acts in Pakistan. They are also concerned that Indian team players can be high targets in Pakistan due to the cross-border conflicts and history. They also may mention that there is no doubt that Indian players will get a very warm welcome and love from the common people, but there always remains a fear that maybe the Indian cricket team may get targeted by the terrorists, as it has already happened once in 2009 with the Srilanka cricket team when they were in Pakistan. There will also be a report attached which will highlight all the terrorism attacks in Pakistan in the past 12 months. Both the cricketing boards BCCI and PCB are very strict towards their decision, but ICC must interfere and make some decisions to resolve this issue, for ICC is left with only 3 options:

  1. Ask the BCCI to agree on the ‘hybrid model’ with India playing in the UAE.
  2. Change the complete hosting right to another country, and risk the chances of Pakistan not participating in the tournament.
  3. Delay the Champions Trophy, which will cause huge losses to both ICC and BCCI.
