The Women’s Cricket T20 World starts 3 October: Team India’s squad and fixtures.
The women’s T20 World Cup starts today on Thursday, 3rd October. Team India will be eyeing its first title with captain Harmanpreet leading the team in the event. India’s women’s cricket team is set to start their T20 World Cup campaign from October 4, Friday. Team India is starting their World Cup campaign as favorites to lift the trophy along with England and Australia, team India is not in action in the opening game of the 2024 women’s T20 World Cup but will be seen tomorrow which is 4th October playing against New Zealand. The women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be starting on the 3rd of October, it is hosted by Bangladesh and was set to be played in Bangladesh only but due to the outgoing outrage and economic crises the matches will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with the host nation Bangladesh playing against the Scotland women’s team in the opening match of 2024 T20 women’s world cup. There are a total of 10 teams participating in the event which are divided into a group of 5-5, group A 5 teams and group B 5 teams. The event is happening in the UAE after the shift from the host nation Bangladesh, there will be a total of 23 matches played within 18 days, with finals taking place on 20th October, and we will be having a new world champion. Three of the favorite teams to win the world are India, Australia and England. They are favorites as they give a dominant performance in every series they played, but other teams are also good and there will be tough competition. So we can expect an interesting tournament ahead. There is one more bold decision made by the ICC regarding the Women’s T20 World Cup, they have decided to give an equal amount of money to the winning team as it’s given in the men’s T20 World Cup. It’s a great initiative by the ICC board and it may also encourage other sports to equalize the payment of men’s and women’s in every sport.
