India vs New Zealand 3rd test match: New Zealand whitewashes India 3-0.

India vs New Zealand 3rd test match which started on 1st of November, and was played at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. The match ended on day 3 itself with New Zealand winning the match. On day 1 when the coin was flipped New Zealand captain Tom Latham won the toss and decided to bat first at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. While batting first in the first New Zealand put up the score of 235 runs with Will Young and Daryl Mitchell scoring 71 and 82 respectively and helping New Zealand reach the score of 235, with India bowlers showing exceptional bowling performances and Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar picking up 5 and 4 wickets respectively. When India came to bat they lost their captain Rohit Sharma early and they were able to score 263 with contributions from Shubhman Gill, Rishab Pant and Yashaswi Jaiswal scoring 90, 60 and 30 respectively and giving a lead of 28 runs, it was a very difficult wicket to bat on. As in the 3rd innings the New Zealand team was only able to score 174 runs against Ravindra Jadeja picking up 5 wickets and giving India a target of 147 runs in the 4 innings. Team India lost early wickets in the form of Rohit Sharma, Shubhman Gill, Virat Kohli and Yashaswi Jaiswal all got out early, this was the worst series for Team India and Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli it seems they had lost their touch. In the fourth inning, only Rishabh Pant was standing as a lone warrior and scoring 64 runs which wasn’t enough for a target of 147 runs, with Ajaz Patel picking up 6 wickets in the 4 innings and 5 in the second. In the 3-test match, Ajaz Patel was the man of the match and Will Young was chosen as the player of the series. This is the first time in test cricket history that team India has been whitewashed by a touring nation in India and India lost its first home test series in the last 12 years.
