India Refuses To Travel To Pakistan For The Champions Trophy 2025.
India has refused to travel to Pakistan for the champions trophy next year starting in February 2025 and the decision of India refusing to travel to Pakistan may trigger the Pakistan government and result in pulling out their name from the tournament. Previously International Cricket Council has written a letter to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) informing them about the response from the Board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) and telling the PCB that BCCI is not ready to send team India to Pakistan to play the Champions trophy and had requested for the hybrid model for the champion trophy which is scheduled to start from 19th February to 9th March 2025. The Champions Trophy which is set to return after 2017, may be held in a hybrid model with India playing all its matches in UAE, and the rest of the tournament conducted by the host nation Pakistan. According to the reports from the PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi has declined the offer of hosting a hybrid model, which may result in shifting the whole tournament out of Pakistan. In such a scenario it is expected that Pakistan is set to pull their name back from the champions trophy and not participate in the tournament. Since 2012, India and Pakistan have not played in bilateral series and have only come face to face in the ICC tournaments like T20 World Cup, ODIĀ World cup last year and Asia Cup. Last year, the Asia Cup was hosted by Pakistan which was also turned into the hybrid model after India pulled its name out of the tournament and declined to play in Pakistan. So it was decided that all the matches of India will be hosted in Sri Lanka and the rest of the tournament will be hosted in Pakistan.
