India vs New Zealand 2nd Test Match Began Yesterday: Day-1
India vs New Zealand 2nd test match of the series started yesterday, Thursday 24th October. The second test match of the series was set to be played in Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir and Captain Rohit Sharma were keeping a strong eye on the pitch before the start of the match and were in constant touch with the grounds curator and as per the reports it was found that the pitch would be a slow turner. During the toss time, both the team’s captain Rohit Sharma captain of team India, and Tom Latham captain of New Zealand were on the ground the coin was flipped but it dropped in favor of New Zealand, so New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first both the teams had made some changes in their playing XI, for team India Kl Rahul, Mohd. Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav were benched for the second test match and Shubhman Gill, Akash Deep, and Washington Sundar returned to the team. While New Zealand also made 1 change in their playing they benched Mat Henry and added Mitchel Santner to the team. While batting in the first innings the New Zealand team had a great start before Ravichandran Ashwin sent back the top 3 batsmen of the New Zealand team. After that Washington Sundar was all over the New Zealand batsman and took all the remaining 7 wickets. It was the first time for team India that all the 10 wickets were taken by the off-spinners in which 3 wickets were in the account of Ravichandran Ashwin and the remaining 7 wickets were taken by Washington Sundar. And after the first innings the New Zealand team gave a lead of 259 runs. When India came to bat on the first day only a few overs were left they scored 16 runs and lost a crucial wicket to their captain Rohit Sharma which was taken by Tim Southee, so at the end of the 1st day team India was trailing by 243 runs.
