CSK vs RR Highlights: Rajasthan Royals prevent another collapse, finish season on a 6-wicket high

Rajasthan Royals finished their IPL 2025 season on a high with a dominating six-wicket victory against Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Chasing 188, the Royals were composed and confident, getting to the mark in 17.1 overs. The dazzling knock of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the highlight of the night, as he left fans astounded with a responsible and aggressive innings of 57 runs off only 33 balls, which included four fours and four sixes. The aggression with which he batted at such a young age was a major highlight of the match; and maybe even the season.

Yashasvi Jaiswal set the tone with a brisk 36 off 19 balls for the Royals, while skipper Sanju Samson provided stability in the middle order with a sluggish 41 off 31 balls. When the end of the chase was nearing, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer ensured that things did not become complicated, with Jurel finishing the job with a six for six.

Earlier during the game, Chennai Super Kings had put up 187/8, which was a fighting score based on strong contributions from Ayush Mhatre (43) and Dewald Brevis (42). But they were unable to capitalize during the last overs, mainly because of some disciplined bowling from Rajasthan. Akash Madhwal was the one who stood out with the ball, as he picked 3 vital wickets for as few as 29 runs and deservedly won the Player of the Match award. Even though both teams were already eliminated from the playoff contention, the game was contested hard and gave the supporters thrilling cricket and a look at some of the fresh talent.

One of the most heart-touching moments came after the match with Vaibhav Suryavanshi went up to MS Dhoni and humbly touched MS’s feet in acknowledgment of the great player who was his hero and instrumental in his cricketing journey. The image quickly went viral and symbolized a passing of the baton of generations of cricketers in India and resonated greatly with the fans. The Royals only managed to win four games in the season but the victory based on youth and a ton of effort was a joyous conclusion to a stale season and were a good platform for future seasons.
