Ranji Trophy scenarios: Ahead of the final round, 15 teams remain in contention for seven spots in QF.

As the Ranji Trophy 2025 heads into the final league-stage round, the race to the quarterfinals is picking up. Seven teams have already been knocked out of the event; however, the competition is not as intense, and 15 teams are left in contention for the remaining seven spots. With just a few points between teams standing at the top of various groups, every match in the league will be decisive.

Elite Group A sees heavyweights like Bengal and Baroda fighting for supremacy. Bengal, currently leading, needs at least a draw to secure qualification, while Baroda must aim for an outright win to advance. Meanwhile, Karnataka and Mumbai are battling for a top-two finish in Elite Group B. Mumbai, led by experienced campaigners, needs to overcome a stiff challenge from Railways to stay in the hunt.

Elite Group C is more compact, and Saurashtra, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh are almost neck-and-neck. Saurashtra is a bit ahead, but Punjab’s aggressive style of play could be the one to watch out for. Uttar Pradesh also hangs in with a mix of youth and experience.

Tamil Nadu and Delhi are likely to qualify in Elite Group D. Tamil Nadu has been dominating this season due to their well-balanced team, while Delhi relies on star performers like Rishabh Pant for a decisive win.

The competition in the Plate Group is no less fierce, with Meghalaya and Manipur aiming for a breakthrough into the knockouts.

So much is at stake, that the final round promises thrilling cricket as teams leave no stone unturned in pursuing quarterfinal berths. As the Ranji Trophy keeps dishing out quality matches, fans await the drama and excitement that the final round will bring.
