Tennis Player Archana Kamath Leaves Sports

Right after the Paris Olympics 2024, india star table tennis player Archana Kamath took a shocking decision of leaving the sport at age of 24 in spite having support from Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) and other sponsors she has decided to quit and pursue higher studies in abroad. Archana Kamath helps India to secure best ever Olympic results, by qualifying till the quarterfinals where India lose 1-3 to Germany and Archana was the only one to secure a win for India in that match. In an interview with Anshul Garg , the Arcahna’s coach told the media about his discussion after returning from the Paris Olympics.” He mentioned that , I told her that she has put a lot of effort into achieving a place in this sport as she was chosen over Ayhika Mukharjee , who defeated Sun Yingsha number 1 TT player. In the last 2 months she had improved a lot in table tennis but now she has made up her mind to quit . She has a determined personality so now it’s difficult to change his mind. She had an impressive Olympic journey this year at the Olympic games Paris 2024”.Archana has always been good in her academics along with table tennis. It was a difficult and hard decision but it’s her choice to follow her other passion and give her full time for her academics. She considers his brother as her idol who works in NASA. Archana has also done her graduation in economics and is focusing on her Master’s degree for international relations.
