India Women’s Cricket Team Campaign In T20 World Cup 2024 So Far.

India women’s cricket team campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 started on 4th October, where they were up against the New Zealand women’s cricket team and India had to face a huge loss of 58 runs against them which affected their NRR badly making it difficult for India to make it to the semi-finals. After the loss against New Zealand in the first match of their campaign, next on 6th October India team was ready to face their arch-rival Pakistan, India came on the field against Pakistan with a clear mindset of winning and keeping their hopes for the semi-finals alive. So in the second match of their campaign Pakistan set up a target of 106 runs by batting first, which India easily chased down and won the match by 6 wickets and registered the first 2 points for themselves on the table. After the win in the second match against Pakistan, team India gained more confidence as they came on the field on 9th October to face the Sri Lanka women’s team in their 3rd match. In the 3rd match of their campaign India batted first against the Sri Lanka women’s team and set a target of 173 runs to win Sri Lanka women’s team, but with their excellent performance with the ball they all out the Sri Lankan team on 90 runs and registered a win with a huge margin of 82 runs, which helped them in improving their NRR and keeping their hope for the finals alive. Now in their last league match of the campaign, the Indian women’s team will be up against the Australian women’s team on Sunday 13th October. After a huge win of 82 runs and improved NRR India has to depend upon others to qualify for the semi-final of the T20 World Cup, as  New Zealand and Pakistan both remain with 2-2 matches where Pakistan will be facing Australia and New Zealand and New Zealand will be facing Pakistan and Sri Lanka, India hopes that both the teams losses one of their remaining matches which make India’s qualification chances easier or else they team India has to win against Australia with huge margin so that other teams cannot come up to their NRR.

Remaining fixtures of Group A at the women’s T20 World Cup:

Australia vs Pakistan:  October 11.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka: October 12.

India vs Australia:  October 13.

New Zealand vs Pakistan: October 14 .
