The Tata Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 will start on February 14 and end on March 15, 2025. The third edition will host five teams: Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and UP Warriorz, to vie for the much-desired title. The tournament will have a double round-robin league structure, in which each team will play all the other teams twice. The top team of the points table will go straight to the final, and the second and third teams will play an eliminator for the remaining finalist.
The games will be played across four grounds: Kotambi Stadium,Vadodara, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, and Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. The inaugural match pitted Gujarat Giants againstRoyal Challengers Bengaluru on February 14 at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara. The eliminator match will take place on March 13 and the final will be played on March 15 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
The teams have great squads with their star players. Delhi Capitals, commanded by Meg Lanning, have their star players such as Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma. Gujarat Giants, with Ashleigh Gardner as their captain, have Beth Mooney and Harleen Deol. Mumbai Indians, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, have best players such as Hayley Matthews and Amelia Kerr. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with Smriti Mandhana as captain, have Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh, and UP Warriorz, who are under the leadership of Deepti Sharma, have match-winners Sophie Ecclestone and Tahlia McGrath.
