Neeraj Chopra was disappointed at the Lausanne Diamond League
Neeraj Chopra who recently won a silver medal for India in the Paris Olympics 2024 by throwing his season best of 89.45, was just behind Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem who won the Gold medal for Pakistan who threw an Olympic best of 92.97. After the Olympics, India’s star athlete and two-time Olympic medal winner Gold and Silver Neeraj Chopra participated in the Lausanne Diamond League and expressed his disappointment of not being able to touch the 90m mark throw. The athlete was participating in the event and was struggling with his throws, he was around the 80, 83 meters mark and was not in the top 3 positions before his last 2 monstrous throws which helped him to secure yet another silver medal in an international event and he also throws his another season-best throw of 89.49m which is 3rd time in a month previously he made a throw of 89.34 m in Olympic qualification and followed by 89.45m throw in Olympic final which helped him to secure a silver medal and the third time at Lausanne Diamond League he made a throw of 89.49m. It was for the first time since 2018 that Neeraj Chopra was struggling to secure a medal in an international javelin event before he threw the javelin for 89.49 m, his new season best just behind Anderson Peter’s sensational throw of 90.61m mark which helped Neeraj to secure a medal and continue his medal streak now for 6th continuous years. The star athlete with a niggle wasn’t 100% fit for a long time, but now he has been mentioned to be more fit and gunning towards that 90m mark. Being consistent and fit for sports like javelin is not easy for such a long time but Neeraj Chopra has done it, so kudos to him and best wishes to him for future events.
